Tried & True Reliability, Capability, & Performance Make the 2018 Rogue a Home Run for Naperville Drivers

The Nissan Rogue is one of the most popular SUVs on our roadways today, and that's no accident; people haven't rallied around the Rogue for no good reason! With a bevy of accolades and honors beneath its belt, the Nissan Rogue rolls into the 2018 model year with some tweaks and upgrades that only enhance its mass appeal. Check out what's new for the 2018 Nissan Rogue, what helps it stand apart from other mid-size SUVs, and how Nissan is pushing the future with cutting-edge innovations.

What's New for the 2018 Nissan Rogue?

As we all know, a new model year brings with it upgrades and improvements, and the 2018 Nissan Rogue is no exception there. New for 2018, the Nissan Rogue sees the following changes:

  • An optional driving assistance technology called ProPILOT Assist joins the 2018 Rogue SL Platinum Packages. ProPILOT Assist lays the foundation for the eventual coming of autonomous driving. The system is able to use radar sensors and a forward-facing camera to navigate stop-and-go traffic, maintain a set following distance, and keep the vehicle centered in its late. This will be available on the SL model through a package.
  • NissanConnect™ now standard on all 2018 Rogue models, and include Apple CarPlay™ as well as Android Auto™ and Bluetooth® audio streaming support-all standard!
  • The much-loved Midnight Edition continues into the 2018 model year, this time blacker, brooding-er, and cooler than before!
  • Rather than an addition, the 2018 Nissan Rogue loses one thing for 2018, but we don't think you'll mind much; for the 2018 model year, the Rogue will drop its optional third-row seat. If you really need the extra passenger room, the Nissan Pathfinder has the space you need and will probably be a better fit!

Performance, Style, & Comfort in the 2018 Nissan Rogue:

  • Performance & Capability: The Nissan Rogue is ideal for Chicagoland drivers because it combines responsive power with the small footprint of a compact SUV, meaning you get the capability you need when it comes to driving in Naperville, Aurora, Bolingbrook, Joliet, and Wheaton, without it being too big and bulky for navigating our often-crowded streets. Power comes from a 2.5-liter, four-cylinder engine, which is paired with an Xtronic® CVT with both Sport and Eco drive modes. Together, this delivers 170 horsepower and 175 pound-feet of torque. in the 2018 Nissan Rogue, and while front-wheel drive (FWD) is the standard configuration, those who want superior traction can opt for all-wheel drive (AWD) at all three trim levels (S, SV, and SL).
  • Style & Design: Few would accuse the 2018 Rogue of being gaudy, but that doesn't mean its understated or boring; though the styling has changed a bit, fans of the Rogue will still find it familiar. The front fascia has gotten a little refresh, still featuring the bold and captivating V-Motion grille that features throughout the Nissan Lineup, and the rear end has been reworked and offers new LED Lighting, but otherwise, style remains largely unchanged. You know the saying, if it ain't broke….
  • Comfort & Convenience: Comfort is effortless in the 2018 Nissan Rogue. Cloth upholstery features until the SV trim, where leather upholstery replaces it. Heated front seats are standard on the SV trim, while all three trims offer a 7.0-inch color touchscreen and the NissanConnect™ infotainment system, which hosts Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™, though navigational features are an available extra. Another mark of ease-the Hands-Free Liftgate is standard on the SV trim, but Remote Keyless Entry and power doors and window are standard from the start.
  • Infotainment & Tech: All trims of the 2018 Nissan Rogue will offer a 7.0-inch color touchscreen, which is in charge of operating the infotainment system, called NissanConnect™. As we mentioned above, NissanConnect™ will offer support for Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™. Some tech options include a navigational system, as well as Intelligent Around View Monitor with Moving Object Detection, which offers a 360° bird's eye view of your vehicle.

The 2018 Nissan Rogue Puts the Focus on Safe Driving with Optional Nissan Intelligent Safety Shield Technologies

Safety matters for all drivers, but it's especially important when it comes to choosing a family SUV. Naperville families will certainly appreciate the generous standard safety offering the 2018 Nissan Rogue brings to the party:

  • Automatic Emergency Braking
  • Blind Spot Monitor
  • Rear Cross-Traffic Alert
  • and a Rearview CameraOf course, those who want more tech-oversight and support can find what they're looking for in the available packages, like the Sun and Sound Touring Package on the Rogue SV, which gives you a 360° camera (Intelligent Around View Monitor) as well as Adaptive Cruise Control; there's also the Premium Package for the SV, which costs a bit less than the previously mentioned package, and gives you Adaptive Cruise Control-but no Around View Monitor.

What Are the Trim Levels of the 2018 Nissan Rogue?

There are only three trims for the 2018 Nissan Rogue, and they all share the same drivetrain, which means their differences mainly come in the form of materials and feature arrangement:

  • 2018 Nissan Rogue S: The entry trim starts you off well with high-quality cloth seating, NissanConnect™ with support for Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™, and Remote Keyless Entry. The S trim rides on 17-inch steel wheels, and a Tire-Specific Tire Pressure Monitoring System is standard. There are no available packages for the 2018 Rogue S trim.
  • 2018 Nissan Rogue SV: The SV trim spans the distance between the ultimate trim level and the entry, offering tempting features like a motion-activated Hands-Free Liftgate as standard equipment. More than that, the SV trim turns those 17-inch steel wheels into 17-inch aluminum alloy wheels, while adding heated outside mirrors, roof rails, heated front seats, and a six-speaker sound system (two more speakers than the S trim)-all standard on the SV. There are some available packages, too: SV Sun and Sound Touring Package, SV Premium Package, and the SV-exclusive Midnight Edition Package.
  • 2018 Nissan Rogue SL: When you arrive to the top of the trim tree, the SL trim wastes no time letting you know. Leather upholstery becomes standard on the SL trim, as do a host of driver-assist features and creature comforts; a heated steering wheel, a navigation system, a BOSE® premium audio system, and 18-inch alloy wheels rank among the most noteworthy standards. The 2018 Nissan Rogue SL has three available packages: the SL Premium Package, the SL Platinum Package, and the SL Platinum Reserve Interior Package.

How Does the Nissan Rogue Compare to Competing Vehicles Like the Honda CR-V?

If you're shopping for a new crossover in the Chicago area, you've probably noticed that there are a lot of different options available. With so many choices, it can be hard to determine which model is actually best for you. At Gerald Nissan of Naperville we would be happy to help you decide. We think the Nissan Rogue is a great choice because it offers comfort, safety and great features. However, we know there are a lot of competing vehicles out on the road; we will gladly tell you how this model compares to competitors like the Honda CR-V.

These two vehicles may offer similar prices, fuel economy ratings and power, but we still think the Rogue is the better choice. So what does the Rogue offer that the CR-V doesn't?

  • Available third row: The Rogue offers an optional third row of seats, so you can  bring along more passengers. The CR-V does not offer this feature.
  • More passenger volume: You passengers will have more space to stretch out in the Rogue.
  • More cargo space: You can bring along more cargo in the Rogue, while you might have to leave a few things behind if you drive a CR-V.

As you can see, the Rogue has a lot going for it. This vehicle offers a more spacious interior and it can seat more people for a more convenient and accommodating drive. And, in our opinion, the Rogue has a more exciting style that we think you're going to love.

If you're interested in learning more about the Nissan Rogue and what makes it a great choice, come on over to our dealership serving Chicago. We would be happy to show you our available models and answer any questions you might have so you can decide if the Rogue is right for you.

Why Should You Choose the Nissan Rogue Instead of the Toyota RAV4?

There are a lot of different crossovers available these days and if you're in the market for one, you might have trouble sifting through all those options to find the best vehicles. Here at Gerald Nissan of Naperville we would be happy to help with that. We know that the Nissan Rogue is an excellent choice thanks to its smooth ride and exciting features. This vehicle has some competition, so we will gladly tell you what sets it apart from competing models.

Vehicles like the Toyota RAV4 might seem similar to the Rogue at first. They are offered at similarly affordable prices and they have a similar amount of power. However, the Rogue has a lot to offer that the RAV4 doesn't:

  • Better fuel economy: The Rogue offers 26 city MPG and 33 highway MPG, while the RAV4 offers 24 city MPG and 31 highway MPG, so you can save on gas in the Rogue.
  • More passenger space: You passengers will have more room to stretch out and stay comfortable in the Rogue.
  • Available third row: The Rogue offers available third-row seats so you can bring along more people in the Rogue. Some of your friends might have to stay home if you drive the RAV4.
  • Lighter weight: These vehicles have the same size engine, but the Rogue is lighter than the RAV4, allowing it to provide a more energetic drive.

If the Nissan Rogue seems like your kind of vehicle, come on over to our dealership. We are conveniently located near Chicago and we would be happy to take you out for a test drive so you can really get to know this vehicle. If you like what you see, we'll help you get your hands on a Rogue of your very own.
